Artist's Comments
This piece holds a special place in my heart, as do all my art pieces. Yet this one is a bit different. In the past, most of my art has been taken from painful times in my life and I seem to be able to feed off that pain and anger to create something positive, or at least that others can relate to on some level.
This piece is a tad different. I am actually taking a positive emotion, such in this case as love to fuel this. Odd for me I know. This piece is dedicated to my “Black Diamond.” While sitting at my desk the other day I had my WinAmp on and the song - “I wish I had an Angel” by Nightwish came on. This song is one that he has said in the past reminds him of me and is fitting for us. Which it is. Leaning back I began to miss him because he is currently living hundreds of miles away, thankfully for not too much longer. I decided to open Photoshop and get to work. I had an image in my mind that portrayed the song, at least to me. Now normally I will find another model to place in the art piece for something this in-depth but I opted to use myself since it is for my “Black Diamond,” and he refers to me as his “Evil Angel.” The piece itself is simple enough in meaning, a general representation of an angel alone in the night, a slightly lustful expression on her features and angelic wings burning to dust as she awaits by the wishing well for the one that is wishing for her that evening. Now, with all art, each person will see this piece differently and I hope that you do. Even though it means one thing to me, I love knowing what it means to others.
